The Story of Usef Waly

Voice Acting Journey
My journey into voice acting began with a simple goal: to become the kind of storyteller people remember long after the final sentence.
Since then, I have dedicated myself to developing my craft through professional coaching in voice performance, acting and character work. My voice acting training has been guided by respected Egyptian voice actor Lotfy Abd El Aziz , while my recording workflow has been developed alongside sound engineer Ahmed Ehab, helping me build a strong foundation in professional audio production.
To broaden my performance skills beyond the microphone, I have also trained in acting under Lauren Unger-Geoffroy , whose work in international film and performance has reinforced the importance of truthful, emotionally grounded storytelling. I am currently continuing my development through an intensive Meisner Technique workshop with coach Hatem Reda at Turquoise Casting Agency , focusing on authentic performance, listening and emotional presence.
This combination of voice acting, acting technique and professional audio production continues to shape my work across commercial voice over, documentary narration, corporate narration, character voices, audiobooks, podcasting and storytelling.
Whether working in English or Arabic, my goal is always the same: to tell stories that feel authentic, memorable and emotionally engaging.
I welcome collaborations with studios, agencies, production companies and independent creators across Egypt, the Middle East and internationally, and I am fully equipped to work remotely with clients around the world.
I've always been fascinated by stories.
Not just the ones we find in books, films, games and history, but the stories behind people, ideas and the choices that shape them. That curiosity is the thread that runs through everything I do.
My path has never been a straight line.
I studied at the American University in Cairo, then finished my degree at Hult International Business School in London, with time along the way in the United States and China. That mix of places and people sharpened my ear for how differently the same story can land, and gave me a career in business and leadership before I ever stepped up to a microphone.
Business taught me discipline, patience and how to listen. It's the quieter half of my life today, but it still shapes how I show up for a session: prepared, focused and respectful of the people on the other side of the glass.
Storytelling stayed with me the whole time.
Whether it was the rise and fall of civilizations, mythology, the psychology of heroes and villains, or the worlds built by great writers, I kept being pulled back to the characters and ideas that leave a mark on people.
That pull is what led me into acting and voice acting. I've trained in voice performance with Egyptian voice actor Lotfy Abd El Aziz, in acting under Lauren Unger-Geoffroy, and I'm currently studying the Meisner Technique with Hatem Reda at Turquoise Casting Agency, working on truthful, emotionally grounded performance in both English and Arabic.
Today, my work lives at the microphone.
Commercials, documentary and corporate narration, audiobooks, character voices, villain monologues and podcasting, bilingual, remote or in-studio. I also co-host the Star Wars Canon Podcast, where storytelling, character, mythology and philosophy all meet in one place.
If any of this sounds like your kind of project, I'd love to hear about it.
